Covid-19

Our current activities include the development of fact sheets exploring the relationship between Covid-19 and human rights, and the collection of personal narratives of how Covid-19 is affecting people’s rights. We will incorporate these narratives, where appropriate, into a  York submission to the Joint Committee On Human Rights (see below).

Fact sheet #1 (April 2020) is available to download here.

Fact sheet #2 (May 2020) is available to download here.

A British Sign Language (BSL) interpretation of our Covid-19 work is available here.

Our Submission to the Inquiry by Joint Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights into the impact of the Government’s Covid-19 Emergency Powers

Over the last three months, the York Human Rights City Network has been collecting data from individuals and civil sector organisations and groups about their experience of the national and local response to Covid-19. This information was submitted as evidence to the Joint Committee on Human Rights Inquiry into the impact of the Government’s COVID-19 legislation which you can view here.

We would like to thank all those who have contributed to this submission.
