Accessible information report
We have heard from more than 300 people about their experiences of getting information from health and care organisations in a format they can access and understand. There is a really mixed picture with some good practice, but still a lot of work to do.
Working with Healthwatch York and North Yorkshire County Council, we are writing our report based on your feedback. It will highlight the impact of not getting information in the right format and include recommendations for what organisations should do to improve the situation.
We are launching the report virtually on Zoom on the dates below:
- Tuesday 21 June at 10 – 11.30am
- Thursday 23 June at 6 – 7.30pm
***When you book, please let us know if you have any access needs, including if you need a BSL interpreter.
Following the launch, we will be working with organisations to help them develop and deliver action plans to ensure people get information in the format they need.
So, come and hear the experiences of local people who are trying to get information in their chosen format. All feedback captured is related to our recent survey and focus groups. You will hear why getting accessible information is important, the difference it makes, and what local people think health and care organisations can do to make sure the person the letter is sent to can access their health and care information independently.
