The event will be in the form of a panel-based discussion. We will have 3-4 key questions that will form the core of the debate. The experience and expertise of our guest speakers will discuss current national/local government policy in addressing health inequalities faced in the North/Yorkshire and what direction they would like to see policy-makers in building a fairer society. This is a great opportunity to listen to activists in this area and pose questions on what direction you would like to see from national/local government.
This event is part of the Yorkshire SHA ‘Rethink Healthcare’ Policy framework. We are building ourselves as the centre of health policy work in Yorkshire. To do this, we have been hosting health policy workshops at CLPs, BLPs, trade union and campaign groups across Yorkshire. At these health policy workshops, conversations are based on ‘Health Inequalities’ and ‘Social Care’, where members have the opportunity to tell us the challenges faced in their communities and policy they would like to see from their elected members in authority. We will be using these points to design health policy to propose to regional and national Labour Party bodies to shape their health manifesto.
