About Morwan (they/them)
Morwan Osman is a Queer™ Sudanese-American and amateur photographer living in York, UK. They’re an active member of QTI Coalition of Colour, a network for self-identified QTI BiPOC based in Cambridge, UK. During the day they work as a Research Associate at the University of York Department of Chemistry.
About the Workshop
Morwan will be guiding a session on the art of photography. What is photography and what does it mean to you? They will be facilitating a discussion exploring these questions, encouraging you to bring and take photos, and analysing the photos that Morwan will be displaying during the session.
Art Liberation Week
Art Liberation Week aims to decolonise art and creative practice. In practice this means that whatever your experience, you can create art. We strongly encourage you to try as many of the workshops as you can, push yourself out of your comfort zone and our wonderful facilitators will guide and care for you during this process.
The week offers an opportunity for people of colour in York to connect and build a supportive community; a space where we can freely express ourselves and experience joy.
