Audrie & Daisy: Consent and Cyber-bullying Film with Q+A
March 8, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
*Content Warning: This event will be discussing rape, sexual violence and cyber-bullying*
FemSoc and Survive York, have organised three special viewings of “Audrie & Daisy” a documentary about teens in America who suffered cyber-bullying after being raped and sexually abused.
The film focuses on topics such as consent, rape culture and sexual abuse as well as the part social media and stigma are playing on society, especially among teens and young adults.
After the screening there will be Q&A with various professionals in the area, including Mia Shantana Chaudhuri-Julyan, Community and Wellbeing Officer, to raise awareness of these growing issues. The film is 1 1/2 hours long and there is no obligation to stay for the Q&A. Or, if you just want to come for the Q&A that is also absolutely fine!
The event is free but donations will be accepted, there will be buckets on entry. Please come along and support this amazing charity that does great work in our local community.
The film is unrated however due to the upsetting content we advise that anyone under 16 be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
