The answers might not be easy, but Bill Grimsey argues that High Streets have to adapt or die. How will it feel to take a stroll through York in 15 years time? What do our high streets need to do to recover, and rebuild themselfves to withstand the challenges that the future holds?
Bill Grimsey has an unrivalled background and expertise on the high street as a senior executive in retail chains in Britain and around the world. He has been the CEO of several national and international retail chains including Wickes, Iceland, Focus DIY and senior executive in other retail chains including Booker and Tesco. The event will give York’s Local High Street Businesses, politicians residents and campaigners the opportunity to ask questions of Bill Grimsey and debate about how York might prepare for the rest of 21st Century.
With York’s ambitious target of zero carbon emissions by 2030 how can businesses, buildings, transport and open spaces adapt and what are the implications for the make-up of our future high streets?
This is the event where we start to shape our future.
