Britain in full colour

February 23, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

York Afro-Caribbean Society event

Britain in Full Colour is the Afro-Caribbean Society’s Ted Talk-style event that aims to show Britain in its full multicultural colour – one that includes the presence of Africans and Caribbeans in its history.

An opportunity to hear from foregoers in their field, the ACS has collated a variety of passionate, diverse and outgoing speakers for your pleasure, to encourage learning of past and present black Britons’ struggles and triumphs. An expansion of colour on what you’ve been taught in school!

Speakers include:

  • Dr Robin Bunce, Homerton College, Cambridge University
  • Katy Sian, Sociology, University of York
  • Rehana Minhasm, educationalist and a representative of Peacejam uk
  • Remi Joseph-Salisbury, Leeds Beckett
  • Other speakers to be confirmed

This event is free for all, with a small charge for food and drinks reception. Food and drinks to be of African and Caribbean cuisine.

Location: Room SLB/118, Spring Lane building

Admission: is free of charge and open to all. No booking required.
