“Britain, Palestine and a Jewish Homeland” and “Longing, Belonging & Balfour” – an interactive afternoon workshop and an evening music and drama performance

A music and drama production, focussing on personal insights surrounding the Balfour Declaration.

The 2nd November 2017 marks 100 years since the Balfour Declaration. At 7.30pm on Friday the 22nd of September 2017, David Mowat, Quaker, musician and community arts practitioner, together with his group of 8 musicians, presents a performance of “Longing Belonging & Balfour” at the Central Methodist Hall in St Saviourgate, York YO1 8NQ

The show, which is on tour, tells a 3-way story – Zionist, Palestinian and British – using Jazz, Klezmer, Arabic and Ottoman music, Salvation Army tunes and Yiddish as well as story-telling.

An interactive workshop entitled “Britain, Palestine and a Jewish Homeland” is also on offer on the afternoon of 22nd September from 2-4pm at the same venue.

Tickets are available through Eventbrite costing

£9 (waged) or £7 (unwaged) for the evening performance

£8 for the afternoon workshop.

The combined show & workshop ticket cost is £12.
