People Helping People: effective, city led volunteering in York
Free
On 20 November, York CVS will welcome visitors from the US, and all over the UK to learn with us in York. Based on the renowned Cities of Service model, the focus is impact volunteering. Particularly, how people can help people to deliver positive change in York, and elsewhere, by working with city priorities.
Join us for an action packed day, chaired by Sarah Armstrong Chief Executive, York CVS, including:
Cities of Service as One Solution Exploring the model with Myung Lee, Executive Director US Cities of Service, who will tell the story of how the movement has suceeded internationally.
The York Story: The Launch of the new Volunteering Strategy with Sue Collins, Director of Development York CVS and Joe Micheli Head of Commissioning (Early Intervention, Prevention & Community Development) at City of York Council.
World Cafe, focusing on leadership in the community and social infrastructure.
Thinking of possibilities: how to make this work, a panel discussion involving top tips and learning from the national organisations and cities already using Cities of Service.
Cities of Service works to encourage contributions from all our citizens and communities, and it succeeds!
