COMMUNITY VOICES QUARTERLY
April 25, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
Community Voices is a cross-cutting discussion forum which is open to everyone, aiming to identify priority issues for the people of York.
The meetings aim to provide networking and peer-support opportunities for organisations. They will be broadly themed around York’s 5 priority human rights: housing; education; health & social care; equality & non-discrimination; decent standard of living. Attendees are encouraged to discuss the issues that matter to them and their communities/organisations, seeking to identify common experiences and potential resolutions.
This project has been set up:
- Recognising that the communities in York are changing and growing.
- To embrace this diversity and bring together people who perhaps wouldn’t otherwise come together due to their cultural beliefs, religion, disability, vulnerability, need or experience.
- To create an opportunity for them to be heard both individually and collectively and influence policy making.
- To encourage meaningful participation of organisations and individuals whose voices might not otherwise be heard
This meeting will be held in the Knavesmire Room at York CVS (Priory Street Centre); please go to the Priory Street reception area on arrival.
