Craftivism with Sarah Corbett from the Craftivist Collective.
September 13, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
FreeThe British Institute of Human Rights are holding a Week of Action on Human Rights in the UK, in partnership with Equally Ours, Stonewall, Liberty, The End Violence Against Women Coalition, Amnesty International UK, The Quakers, The Humanists and Freedom from Torture.
One of the key things we are asking people to do during the Week of Action is to meet with their MPs or elected representatives in their local constituencies to show how much we care about human rights. We want to ask the elected politicians who represent us to protect our rights.
The Week of Action needs to happen because the UK government is attempting to change the law in a number of ways which could undermine our human rights as well as our ability to challenge decisions or actions that breach our rights. Click here to find out more.
You can get involved by…
- Emailing weekofaction@amnesty.org.uk saying you want to be involved and telling them who your MP is. To find out who your MP is, click here.
- Booking onto a FREE workshop! See below for more details.
- Spreading the word about this campaign to anyone who wants to protect our rights in the UK.
Free Preparation Workshops
On the run up to the Week of Action, there will be a range of free online workshops where you can learn more about these new laws, how human rights are protected in the UK, and get tips on activism and campaigning. Knowledge is power and the more we know about our human rights, the more effectively we will be able to campaign to protect them.
- Craftivism with Sarah Corbett from the Craftivist Collective. Monday 13th September, 6-7.30pm. Click here to register.
