Disabled people’s protest rights – what you need to know.

Join us on Tue Oct 17 2023 at 6pm for an empowering online event where we give an overview our rights to protest as disabled people.

Written resources explained

Disability Rights UK and Liberty have created an online resource on Disabled people’s protest rights. It’s also available as a shorter downloadable pdf

There are also printable cards that you can keep on you during protests.

More detailed explanations are in Liberty’s articles about Disabled people’s rights.

What will we cover?

In this 90 minute webinar, we will bring together key information from these resources, like:

  • the legal framework of our basic human rights to protest
  • updates to protest law
  • our rights not to be discriminated against for being Disabled
  • information on reasonable adjustments during a protest and when interacting with the police
  • practical tips on going to a protest
  • ways to make protests more accessible and inclusive

Who is this for? Everyone!

No legal knowledge or experience protesting is needed. Whether you are a disabled person, an ally, an activist, or simply curious about the topic, this event is for you. Knowing our rights helps us make informed decisions, and advocate for ourselves and others. Completely free to attend. Register now to secure your spot!
