Dismantling Racism

April 13, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

If you’re horrified by racism, feel out of depth, uncomfortable, overwhelmed or helpless – come along and learn to be actively anti-racist.

About this Event

Brexit has brought a lot of people’s attention to racism that has always existed to a large extent, but is finally visible. People are more aware of racism as something that happens, but feel out of depth, uncomfortable, overwhelmed and helpless. If you’ve been feeling any of this, are horrified by racism but don’t know what to do to help, or where to start – this is it.

During the workshop, the facilitator explores four main areas – race, racism, privilege and allyship. The workshop will challenge assumptions, question conditioning and provide a space to have honest conversations. The workshop is designed to give people a space in which to explore their relationships to the topics above and work to be actively anti-racist.

(Anti-racism is a conscious and active process of identifying, challenging structures and behaviours that underpin and perpetuate systemic racism.)
