York Indian Cultural Association and the Hindu Faith Advisors at York St John University are celebrating the Festival of Light. Diwali is celebrated as a victory of the GOOD over EVIL, and as a symbol of Hope, Love and Friendship.
Date: Saturday 21 October 2017
Time: 4.00pm – 8.00pm (arrival from 3.45pm)
Location: Temple Hall, York St John University, Lord Mayor’s Walk, York
Booking is required for this event – please book early to avoid disappointment.
The event will include:
- A cultural programme of music and dance
- Traditional and contemporary dance performances including Classical Indian Dance, vocal and intrumental music by invited guest artists from the famous Annapurna Dance Company, Halifax and by local YICA artists.
- Authentic Indian vegetarian dinner in the Dining Room, York St John University following the main event.
