York Fair Trade Forum; How might being a Human Rights City help the promotion of fair trade in York?

York is the UK’s first Human Rights City. The work of the York Human Rights City Network has so far focussed on the five human rights identified by the people of York as being the most important, namely the right to education, a decent standard of living, housing, health & social care and equality and non- discrimination. In this talk Marilyn Crawshaw, Executive Member of York Human Rights City Network will give an outline of its work and rationale and offer some preliminary thoughts about Fair Trade and human rights. This will be followed by a discussion.
