HRD Talks – Zimbabwe: Wallowing in a crisis. What needs to be done?

November 24, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

Speaker: Jestina Mukoko

Zimbabwe is reeling in a deepening crisis, politically, economically, socially and humanitarian. The government refuses to accept that a crisis exists and rather concedes that the country is facing challenges and the ‘illegal economic sanctions’. The South African government and the governing party the ANC have deployed envoys to fact-find but the authorities in government have spurned these attempts and blocked envoys from accessing other stakeholders. Zimbabweans have to engage in solving the crisis otherwise the majority of Zimbabweans will continue to suffer.

Jestina Mukoko is National Director of the Zimbabwe Peace Project, Chairperson of the Zimbabwe Human Rights NGO Forum and Vice Chairperson of the National Convergence Platform General Council.
