About the talk:
Together We Thrive: Join our talk to hear about, and discuss, how the environmental movement can be made inclusive!
What are the barriers and opportunities for disabled people to have their say on sustainability? What gets in the way of getting involved? And what is more likely to ensure full involvement? In this session, we will be sharing an overview of disability, and ableism. We will then delve into the consequence of ableism in the environmental movement and the impact of the same.
Following the presentations, we will open the floor for what we hope to be a lively and engaged discussion and opportunity to ask questions in a non-judgmental atmosphere!
There will be a BSL interpreter and Zoom enabled captions available . If you have any other access needs, we’ll do our best to meet them. Please email Srish on sj1080@york.ac.uk or Marilyn on marilyn.crawshaw@york.ac.uk
