Women’s rights and youth activist Anima Poudel discusses chhaupadi, a centuries long discriminatory practice against women and girls during their menstrual periods and postpartum periods that is still practiced in remote rural areas of Nepal. How does this practice affect on women’s and girls ability to enjoy their rights? What can be done to promote women’s rights in traditional rural communities?
