MARCH FOR HUMAN RIGHTS – British Institute of Human Rights
March 22, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pmFree
York: Human Rights City is delighted to host The British Institute of Human Rights annual tour as part of its “March for Human Rights” celebrations of universal human rights, from the UDHR to the Human Rights Act.
Celebrating 70 years of Universal Human Rights
2018 marks the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).
The event aims to:
• Raise awareness about human rights and their relevance in everyday life
• Provide a space to learn about and celebrate our human rights history and think about our human rights future
What happens on the day?
Come along to get current, accurate information about the relevance of human rights law in the UK and how it protects us. We will be looking at our human rights history, celebrating how we got to where we are today, and thinking about our human rights future.
Using a combination of presentations, interactive sessions, discussions (and creative activities!) these half day events provide a much-needed space to look together at the law, everyday practice and the portrayals of human rights.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
