OPEN DOORS SERVICE
June 26, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
To mark the end of Refugee Week there will be a special service at 11am at the Unitarian Chapel in St Saviourgate, York. The theme for the week this year is ‘Healing’ and so the title of the service will be ‘A Time for Healing’.
This will be an opportunity to reflect on what the different faiths teach about caring for refugees and will include readings from various faiths as well as hearing from some of the organisations offering help and support to refugees in York.
Following the service there will be a ‘bring and share’ vegetarian meal just after 12 o’clock so that those attending the service can have some time to chat over lunch with each other. If you can bring some vegetarian food to share as part of the lunch that is great but please don’t worry if you can’t bring anything as I am sure there will be enough for everyone who plans on coming along. We have not been able to do a lunch like this for the last two years and so it will be so nice for us all to come together again.
Do join us if you are able as you will be most welcome.
