Regional Summits: Mental Health, Mental Capacity and Human Rights
February 16, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
FREE but booking required
This summit is one of three being run in the UK by the British Institute of Human Rights (the others are Wednesday 15th Feb in Blackburn and Wednesday 1st March in London) at the culmination of a three year national project ‘Care and Support: A Human Rights Approach to Advocacy’. Co-hosted with our local partners we will share learning ideas from across England on how human rights can help improve mental health and mental capacity services and outcomes.
Representatives from BIHR’s partner organisations will share their experiences first-hand at these meetings, setting the context for discussion on how human rights can help you to work collaboratively to improve services locally.
These summits will also launch our new series of booklets co-developed with advocacy/support groups to empower people who use services about their human rights.
Whether you are involved in service design or delivery, an advocacy or support group, a regulator or Commissioner, a carer or representative of service user led/peer support group, come along and join the discussion.
