Staying Safe in York: Disability Hate Crime

October 14, 2021 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Free
Staying Safe in York: Disability Hate Crime. With PC Stuart Henderson, North Yorkshire Police and members of York People First

About this event

This is our first meeting about disability hate crime. We’ll be joined by members of York People First (a self-advocacy group of people with learning disabilities) who will talk about their experiences and we hope to show a short film that they’ve made. PC Stuart Henderson from North Yorkshire Police will also be there to offer advice and information, including about how to report a hate crime if it happens to you or somebody you know. You will also have chance to share your own experiences – but only if you want to. We aim to have a supportive atmosphere in which to discuss this important topic and share ideas about how to tackle it locally. We look forward to seeing you there!

There will be BSL interpreters and Zoom captions.
