Unity In Community
November 8, 2022 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
freeAbout this event
Join us for a collaboration of community choirs across North Yorkshire.
The evening will feature performances from Musical Connections, who run participatory music sessions and projects for older, isolated and vulnerable people in care and community settings across York. One of their weekly groups runs out of York St John’s new Creative Centre every Wednesday & this will be their first opportunity to perform here.
They will be joined by Communitas choir, a part of Converge. Converge is a partnership between York St John University and local NHS mental health services, offering education for adults with lived experience of mental ill-health. Their choir also meets at YSJ every week!
Also taking part in tonight’s performance are The Wellbeing Choir, based in Harrogate, and funded by York charity Emerging Voices.
The organisations have a long standing relationship and the concert is an opportunity for both to come together in song!
