Want to know more about human rights? Why do human rights matter in York? How can a human rights-based approach improve the effectiveness of your work? How might York becoming a Human Rights City make a difference to you and your organisation? How can indicators help to measure the human rights that are important to the people of York? Want to find out how having a Human Rights MA student working with you on placement might be useful?
This exciting FREE training opportunity is provided by the York Human Rights City Network in conjunction with the British Institute for Human Rights and
Centre for Applied Human Rights, University of York. As well as covering some key facts about human rights law and structures, it will also give case
examples of how human rights approaches have made a difference in voluntary sector work and work with you to consider how your organisation might be able to adopt them. It will also explore how you can join the conversation on human rights indicators in York.
Who is it for: It is aimed at staff from the voluntary sector with an interest in human rights and/or advocacy and preferably with managerial or strategic or training responsibilities.
