What Matters to You? Carers Voices.
July 21, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
FreeWe’re inviting carers to join us on Wednesday 21 July to talk about what matters to you as a carer.
This ‘in person’ event will be the first we’ve held for some time and we want to celebrate, have lunch together, and share your experience, especially the difficulties you have faced over the last year and the ongoing struggles you face.
You may have had difficulty getting help from social and health care services; getting a break from your caring role; suffered a bereavement; had difficulty seeing your loved one in hospital or residential care.
Whatever it is, if you meet with us and share your story, good or bad, we want to hear it and think about how we can make a difference together.
Carers from the Carers Action Group will be attending and this will be an opportunity for you to hear from them. They know exactly how you feel. They may be strangers to you but having a shared experience can make all the difference and it helps to know you’re not alone!
They will be taking issues (anonymously) to forward to health and social care services. You can become a member of this group and be part of a movement that gives carers a voice and meets face to face with statutory services that can help make improvements. Some members sit on various committees to ensure carers are listened to, however this is a one-off event for carers and there is no ongoing commitment required.
Lunch is included for all attendees.
When: Wed 21 July 2021 10am to 1pm, to include lunch.
