Friday 24th June – Afghan Pop Up night
During refugee week we’re offering you the opportunity to taste a different cuisine, hear stories from another culture and make a difference for those stuck in conflict in another land. In collaboration with the University of York and a new team of Afghan nationals, we invite you to join us for a traditional Afghan meal and much more.
The evening will start with an exhibition of artwork by photographer Andy Barnham, entitled “We Are Here, Because You Were There: Afghan Interpreters in UK ” at 6.30pm. We also have a number of short talks throughout the evening considering the situation in Afghanistan currently and the experience of Afghan refugees settling in the UK.
This meal will be a fundraiser, with all the profits from the evening going to help Afghan nationals who are stuck in the country.
