York Group of the Community of the Cross of Nails based at St Martin Coney Street, York, has a remit to 'Heal the Wounds of History.'  Each year they mark Holocaust Memorial Day  on 27th January as part of this remit.  This year they offer: 'Time for Reflection'.  It is a free event, and an opportunity to meet other like-minded groups/individuals, and think about what this year's Holocaust Memorial Day theme: 'Torn from Home' may mean for people here in York.  For more information about the international Community of the Cross of Nails, please visit: www.crossofnails.org

City of York Council's annual Civic Event hosted by the Lord Mayor and Civic party for Holocaust Memorial Day is embracing the national theme, 'Torn From Home'. Exploring how enforced loss of a safe place to call ‘home’ is part of the trauma faced by anyone experiencing persecution and genocide.
