ABOUT The Eleanor Worthington Prize is awarded to students of Art Schools at University level by the Associazione Premio Eleanor Worthington, based in Urbino, Italy, to celebrate the IDPD for work in the visual arts on the theme of disability. The work on display was submitted for the 2018 Prize by British and Italian students. The theme was ‘Disability Pride, Independent Living’. ACCESS York Explore has step-free access and accessible toilets. Limited free disabled parking is available.

DESCRIPTION This event forms part of the annual prize giving event of the Eleanor Worthington award on Art and Disability whose specific theme this year is ‘Hidden Disabilities’. The 2019 prize winners will be interviewed via an Urbino-Italy Skype connection about their work and their pieces will be shown on-line. DESCRIPTION Jackie Hagan is a people person, a multi award-winning playwright, stand-up comedian, amputee and activist. Jackie will perform an extract from her current show, exploring mental health, disability, benefit forms and stumpuppetry with a lot of laughs, before doing some simple fun exercises to explain and make the 'social model of disability' really sink in. You will leave uplifted and confident in talking about accessibility.
