Connected Communities A multi agency approach to preventing sexual harm across North Yorkshire. About this Event We are so excited to be hosting this fantastic best practice, research sharing, networking event at York St John University funded by the All About Respect programme. Connected Communities was established by re:shape in 2018, and is best described as a multi-agency approach to preventing sexual harm across North Yorkshire. Over the past year, the idea of Connected Communities has evolved, and I am so happy that with the close down of re:shape, that Connected Communities has not been lost. A full agenda for the afternoon will be uploaded once confirmed, along with room confirmation. Please see below for current speakers. Tamar Shiboleth (Doctoral Researcher at the University of Birmingham) - Teens experiences following sexual abuse Dr Melanie Douglass (York St John University) - Unanswered Questions about Porn Dr Nadia Wager (Reader in Forensic Psychology at the University of Huddersfield) - Child sexual abuse: A public health issue, but have we adopted a public health approach to tackle it? CJ Reay (Mesmac) - Risks of Online Dating Platforms for LGBT youth Jules Dorey Richmond and David Richmond (York St John University) - HerStory project working with survivors of sexual abuse Ross Holden (Youth Offending Team, City of York Council) - Managing Harmful Sexual Behaviour in Young People Nathalie Noret (York St John University) - Bullying, Harassment and the Bystander Initiative The talks will commence at 2pm and end at 5pm. After 5pm there will be an informal networking event with a food and wine reception. Keeping networks alive is the heart of Connected Communities and we hope you can join us.
